Most noted for his portrayal of Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar in Australia and NZ for which he received "New Zealand Entertainer of the Year" Award and an Australian "MO" Award nomination, Darryl was also an original cast member of the Australian productions Les Miserables and Chess. He featured alongside Sarah Brightman and Anthony Warlow in The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber and won critical acclaim for his portrayal of John Lennon in Looking Through a Glass Onion-an evening with John Lennon in Words and Music". Darryl enjoyed an exceptional 11 year career with the operatic corporate entertainment phenomenon that he co-created -The Three Waiters, and Broadway-themed act The Leading Men. He toured Australia and New Zealand with rock legend Glenn Shorrock and performed with original members of Split Enz and the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.
DARRYL TAKES THE STAGE SINGING!
As an MC, Darryl does something no other MC can do - he takes the stage singing! Beginning the evening with an energetic rendition of "The Toreador" song from Bizet's opera Carmen immediately captures guests' attention and signals that they are in for something special! At the appropriate point in the evening, Darryl can also perform solo - comprising anything from a few arias and/or musical theatre show-stoppers through to a fully customized 25 minute show. Drawing on his vast repertoire from opera and musical theatre and sung with his trademark powerful voice, he delivers a truly stand-out event!
